Amblyopia

Symptoms of amblyopia:

  • Eyes that turn in or out
  • Eyes that do not appear to work together
  • Difficulty judging depth perception
  • Poorer vision in one eye

Treatment of amblyopia:

  • Sometimes patching of the “good eye”
  • Glasses may be needed to correct large refractive errors (nearsightedness, farsightedness or astigmatism)

Amblyopia is diagnosed during a complete eye exam. No special tests are usually needed.
