At Dedham Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston, we support various philanthropic and charitable causes. This month we are promoting Red Nose Day!
Red Nose Day is a fundraising campaign run by the non-profit organization Comic Relief Inc., a registered 501(c)(3) American public charity. Funds raised last year benefited children in all 50 states through programs to keep children and young people safe, healthy and educated.
In the last 25 years, this non-profit organization has raised awareness and money to assist kids in need both Stateside and overseas. To date, they have raised o ver $1 billion globally.
In 2015 Red Nose Day raised $23 million changing the lives of children all over the USA and around the world.
Here is how the money has been spent:
- 7.8M |MEALS AND COUNTING FOR KIDS IN THE US
- 50K+KIDS AND FAMILIES NOW HAVE MEDICAL SERVICE
- 200K MORE CHILDREN IN THE US ARE READING
- 1M+ PREVENTATIVE DISEASE-FIGHTING DRUGS
- 30K+ FAMILIES WITH CLEAN WATER
- 170K VACCINES FOR CHILDREN
